Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a beverage depot in Harrismith so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Harrismith, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• No criminal record
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Basic furniture assembly skills

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
