Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a beverage depot in Kimberley so every delivery goes out full and correct. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Kimberley, Northern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit

• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips

• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Past work as a driver's assistant

• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
