Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

Delivery days start early in Phalaborwa, and a parcel sorting hub needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips

• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
