Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a furniture retailer warehouse in Vanderbijlpark so every delivery goes out full and correct. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a furniture retailer warehouse in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Friendly with customers at the door
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• No criminal record
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
