Delivery Assistant (Furniture Trucks)

You'll load and offload trucks at a cement and brick yard in Vanderbijlpark so every delivery goes out full and correct. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a cement and brick yard on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first

• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record
• Friendly with customers at the door

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
