Desktop Support Technician (Second Line) – Immediate Start

You'll be the person who fixes it when laptops, printers and logins break at a hospital group in Mthatha. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops

• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes

• Paid certification exams after probation

• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
