Job Description

Get hands-on support experience at a hospital group in Vanderbijlpark, from password resets to new laptop builds. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Vanderbijlpark (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
Write short how-to guides for common user problems
Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users

You'll need

Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
Patient and friendly with non-technical users

Extra points for

Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
