Desktop Support Technician (Second Line)

You'll be the person who fixes it when laptops, printers and logins break at a group of private schools in Vereeniging. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a group of private schools on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng.

• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves

• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma

• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
• ITIL Foundation

• Standby pay for after-hours cover

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
