Development Miner (Hard Rock) – Immediate Start

Underground, the miner sets the pace and the safety standard. This chrome and manganese mine near Rustenburg needs that person. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a chrome and manganese mine in Rustenburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Stop work when a condition is unsafe, using your right to withdraw
• Mark off drilling holes to the standard pattern and check the drilling
• Report misfires straight away and handle them strictly by the procedure
• Hold a start-of-shift safety talk and deal with any unsafe condition
• Clear the area, post guards and blast on time as the blasting certificate allows
• Book explosives in and out of the magazine and keep the register accurate
• Record face advance, tons broken and support installed on the shift report

• Able to lead a crew of 8 to 20 people in a language they understand
• No serious safety transgressions in your record
• Valid blasting certificate issued under the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Sound knowledge of your commodity's mining method and support standards
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station, including heat tolerance screening where required

• Underground allowance for every shift below surface
• Housing or living-out allowance
• Medical aid and mine medical station access

• Write your blasting certificate number and date of issue near the top of the CV.
• Mines check your safety record with previous employers. Mention any safety awards or zero-harm periods your crew achieved.
