Diesel Fitter (Forklift Fleet) – Immediate Start

The agricultural equipment dealer in Soweto needs a trade-tested diesel mechanic for workshop and field work. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Soweto; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant

• Auto electrical skills
• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Hydraulic systems training

• Standby and call-out allowance
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
