Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Trucks) – Permanent

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the agricultural equipment dealer in Mbombela. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is an agricultural equipment dealer on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines

• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Solid understanding of air brake systems

• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Overtime available most weeks
• Standby and call-out allowance
