Diesel Mechanic (Trackless Mobile Machinery) – Immediate Start

You'll keep machines, conveyors and shafts running at the coal mine engineering workshop near Secunda. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a coal mine engineering workshop in Secunda. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Maintain pumps, fans and compressors in shafts and on surface
• Take part in weekend shutdowns for major overhauls
• Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers
• Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages
• Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
• Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines

• Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
• Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
• Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
• Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)

• SAP PM module experience
• Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
• Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress

• Artisan allowance on top of basic pay
• Study assistance for engineering qualifications
• Housing support in the mining town

• State your trade and the machines or equipment you know best, for example "fitter: conveyors, crushers and pumps".
• Your trade test certificate must show the trade and the date. Keep a certified copy ready because mines verify it.
