Dispatch Controller (Distribution Depot)

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a distribution depot in Boksburg, that could be you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a distribution depot in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles

• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Matric

• Previous truck driving experience
• Knowledge of cross-border documentation

• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
