Dispatch Controller (Distribution Depot)

Get off the road and into the control office at a road freight company in Isando. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Isando. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests

• Matric
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Good with Excel and email

• Previous truck driving experience
• Transport management system (TMS) experience
• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
