Dispatch Controller (Distribution Depot) – Fixed-Term

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a courier operations centre in Midrand. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a courier operations centre on the Midrand side of Gauteng.

• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest

• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Good with Excel and email
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office

• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
• Logistics or supply chain certificate

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
