Job Description

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a bus and coach operator in Pinetown. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The work is in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
Update customers on delivery times and delays
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system

You'll need

Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Good with Excel and email
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
Calm and decisive when things go wrong
At least 2 years in transport or logistics

Helpful, not essential

Logistics or supply chain certificate
Knowledge of cross-border documentation
Previous truck driving experience
