Job Description

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a courier operations centre in Soweto, that could be you. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Soweto (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system

What you need

At least 2 years in transport or logistics
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Matric
Calm and decisive when things go wrong

Nice if you have

Logistics or supply chain certificate
Previous truck driving experience
