Dispensary Assistant (Hospital Pharmacy) – Experienced

Patients at a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Kariega rely on you to get the right medicine into the right hands. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Kariega, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves

• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
