Domestic Worker (Live-Out, Weekdays) – Experienced

A family in Mossel Bay wants someone they can trust with their guesthouse with family quarters and their children. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Mossel Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a guesthouse with family quarters. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Good with children and patient
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

• Basic first aid or child CPR course
• Non-smoker
• Experience caring for an older person

• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
