Dozer Operator (Mine Dumps & Haul Roads)

Operators at this open-pit manganese mine near Brits keep the ore moving from face to crusher. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Brits; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team
• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required

• Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence

• Fatigue management or defensive driving training
• Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
