Instrumentation Mechanician (Processing Plant)

When production stops, the artisans get it going again. The gold mine shaft complex near Mahikeng needs you on that team. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Mahikeng, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
• Maintain pumps, fans and compressors in shafts and on surface
• Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
• Test and maintain flameproof electrical equipment in coal sections
• Take part in weekend shutdowns for major overhauls
• Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task

• Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
• N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
• At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
• Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster

• SAP PM module experience
• Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress
• Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM

• Housing support in the mining town
• Artisan allowance on top of basic pay
• Tool allowance or company-issued toolbox
• Study assistance for engineering qualifications

• Mention underground or flameproof experience clearly. It separates mine-ready artisans from factory artisans.
• State your trade and the machines or equipment you know best, for example "fitter: conveyors, crushers and pumps".
