Dozer Operator (Mine Dumps & Haul Roads)

Big machines, long shifts, good pay: the open-pit manganese mine near Paarl needs qualified operators. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an open-pit manganese mine in Paarl. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
• Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
• Keep radio contact with the dispatch controller and follow the right-of-way rules
• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required

• Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations

• Machine training instructor experience
• Fatigue management or defensive driving training

• Company bus from nearby towns to the mine gate
• Medical aid subsidy
• Annual performance bonus

• If you live near the mine, say so. Local applicants are often preferred under the Social and Labour Plan.
• Name the exact machine class and size you operated, like "100-ton rigid dump truck". Mines hire by machine.
