Job Description

Plumbing work that keeps Benoni homes and buildings running: this insurance repair contractor needs a trade-tested plumber. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Benoni; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job

What you need

PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces

Helpful, not essential

Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
