Job Description

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a cement and brick yard in Brakpan wants. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Brakpan-based, with most of your time spent at a cement and brick yard.

What you'll actually do

Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count

You'll need

Willing to travel on routes that return late
No criminal record
Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
Friendly with customers at the door
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
