Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes)

Delivery days start early in Germiston, and a furniture retailer warehouse needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a furniture retailer warehouse in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises

• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days
