Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes) – Entry Level

You'll load and offload trucks at a container unpacking yard in Paarl so every delivery goes out full and correct. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Paarl, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Basic furniture assembly skills

• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
