Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes) – Fixed-Term

Delivery days start early in Soweto, and a parcel sorting hub needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a parcel sorting hub in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
