Dump Truck Operator (Open Pit)

Big machines, long shifts, good pay: the contract mining company near Potchefstroom needs qualified operators. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a contract mining company on the Potchefstroom side of North West.

• Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Complete the pre-use inspection checklist for your trackless mobile machine
• Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
• Keep radio contact with the dispatch controller and follow the right-of-way rules
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer

• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Clear understanding of the TMM regulations under Chapter 8 of the MHSA regulations
• Certificate of fitness from a mine medical practitioner

• Experience with ultra-class haul trucks
• Fatigue management or defensive driving training
