Job Description

Big machines, long shifts, good pay: the underground platinum mine using trackless mobile machinery near Sasolburg needs qualified operators. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Sasolburg (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Load, haul and tip with the LHD from draw points to the ore pass
Respect the collision avoidance system warnings and park-up rules
Refuel and wash the machine at the end of your shift where required
Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team

Must-haves

Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster
Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
