ECD Practitioner (Toddler Class) – Permanent

You'll care for and teach young children at a community creche in Somerset West, from nappies to first letters. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Somerset West-based, with most of your time spent at a community creche.

• Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
• Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
• Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Help aftercare learners with homework and reading

• Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
• Matric
• Paediatric first aid certificate
• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer

• Speak more than one home language of the children you'll teach
• Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities

• Short holiday closures over December and Easter
• Sponsored ECD Level 5 studies
