Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this manufacturing plant in Bloemfontein needs a sharp electrical engineer. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a manufacturing plant in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software

Must-haves

Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

Extra points for

Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
PLC programming certification
