Job Description

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The manufacturing plant in Somerset West needs you to make it so. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Somerset West side of Western Cape.

What your day looks like

Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software

You'll need

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts

Extra points for

PLC programming certification
Protection or HV operating authorisation
