Electrical Engineer (GCC Factories)

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this municipal electricity department in Klerksdorp needs a sharp electrical engineer. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a municipal electricity department on the Klerksdorp side of North West.

• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date

• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
• Protection or HV operating authorisation

• Paid professional registration and training
• Flexible hours on design days
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Vehicle allowance for site work
