Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this electrical consulting engineering firm in Brits needs a sharp electrical engineer. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at an electrical consulting engineering firm in Brits. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

What you need

Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
