Electrical Engineer (GCC Factories)

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the water treatment utility in Vanderbijlpark. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097

• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

• PLC programming certification
• Protection or HV operating authorisation
• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW

• Flexible hours on design days
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Paid professional registration and training
