Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution) – Immediate Start

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the water treatment utility in Centurion. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Centurion; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date

• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

• Protection or HV operating authorisation
• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
• PLC programming certification
