Job Description

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The manufacturing plant in Randburg needs you to make it so. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Randburg side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion

What you need

BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

Extra points for

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
Protection or HV operating authorisation
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
