Job Description

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this manufacturing plant in Ballito needs a sharp electrical engineer. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Ballito side of KwaZulu-Natal. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software

Must-haves

Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications

Nice if you have

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
