Electrician for CoC Inspections

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the office park maintenance team in Atlantis. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Atlantis (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language

• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting
• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• Working at Heights certificate still in date

• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster

• Put your registration category (IE, MIE or single-phase tester) and registration number right under your name on the CV.
• Many applicants forget to attach the trade test certificate itself. Recruiters often skip CVs that only mention it.
