Electrician for CoC Inspections

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This office park maintenance team in Pietermaritzburg needs you on the tools. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes

• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting
• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters

• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
