Electrician's Assistant (House Wiring) – Permanent

Strong, willing hands are wanted on a townhouse construction site in Midrand. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a townhouse construction site. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
• Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
• Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work

• Grade 8 or higher
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• Prepared to travel between sites in the area

• Previous site work you can show with a reference
• Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor

• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
• Paid weekly or fortnightly

• If a foreman can vouch for you, put their number on your CV. Site hiring runs on word of mouth.
• List past sites by name and what you did there, like "mixed concrete, laid kerbs". It proves you have done real site work.
