Job Description

A group of private schools in Isando needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Isando-based, with most of your time spent at a group of private schools. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops

You'll need

At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts

Helpful, not essential

ITIL Foundation
Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
