Enrolled Nurse (Surgical Ward) – Immediate Start

A retirement village frail care centre in Pinetown needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Pinetown (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient
• Follow infection control rules, including hand hygiene and safe sharps disposal
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity

• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care
• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people

• Experience in a frail care or hospice setting
• Dementia care or palliative care short course

• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied
