Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Frail Care) – Permanent

You'll give hands-on nursing care at a hospice in-patient unit in Cape Town CBD, working alongside registered nurses. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Cape Town CBD; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Follow infection control rules, including hand hygiene and safe sharps disposal
• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered

• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people
• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely

• A second South African language spoken by the patients you'll serve
• Code B or Code 8 driver's licence for home visits

• Uniform supplied
• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres
• Overtime paid at time and a half

• If you're a caregiver, attach the certificate from the training provider, not just a letter saying you attended.
