Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Frail Care) – Immediate Start

A hospice in-patient unit in Pretoria East needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a hospice in-patient unit on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng.

• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse

• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate

• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres
• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied
