Job Description

A mid-tier accounting firm in Mokopane needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Mokopane-based, with most of your time spent at a mid-tier accounting firm. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Keep client tax files complete for five years
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs

What you need

Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
