Estate Security Supervisor

You'll run a shift of officers at a mining operation in Secunda, keeping posts covered and standards high. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Secunda. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches

• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Available after hours for emergencies
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters

• Mining or hospital security experience
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app

• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Cellphone allowance
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
