Tracking Control Room Agent (Vehicle Recovery)

From a chair in an armed response control room in Ermelo, you guide officers in the field to where they are needed. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations

• Matric
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures

• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• Speaking more than one local language

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
