Estimator (Tenders & Pricing)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Umhlanga. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates

• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
