Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Projects)

The property development company in Ballito needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a property development company in Ballito. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project

• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Travel allowance for site visits

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
